(Scott's version) Liz and I, like many couples these days, connected via an online dating site. We chatted for a little and quickly realised that we had similar interests and outlooks on life (we both paid attention to grammar and punctuation in our messages!).
We met for the first time in May 2020 and not long after, our city was forced in to lockdown due to COVID-19. Despite this, we managed to navigate our way around the various lockdowns and restrictions and became strong friends very quickly, and love was soon to follow.
I learnt very early on that Liz loves to chat - I should have realised the very first time I went to her place for dinner...we didn't eat until about 11pm!
Liz has an infectious laugh that feeds my soul - I am constantly poking fun at anything and everything, including myself, just to watch her laugh with a double thigh slap!
I proposed to my Lizzie in November 2023, as I couldn't imagine spending life with anyone more loving or supportive. We are getting married in November 2025. Why the two year engagement? Well, Liz has always held a dream to travel to the USA in her 50th year to have a white Christmas. And so, with her 50th birthday happening earlier this year, we are now going to make that wish come true and spend three months touring the USA and Canada in the hopes we can find some snow for Christmas. Hence the slight delay in walking down the aisle (no, I did not contemplate getting married by Elvis in the US...that's too tacky even for me!).
So join us here to read about our travels and if you're lucky, we'll be able to post some amazing photos for you to enjoy.
(Liz's version) I saw Scott's profile and immediately fell in love with a photo of him dressed as Elvis. I mean, what a hunka hunka burning love!
We met up for a coffee and I should have known right away that he lived in runners, jeans and polo shirts with emblems on them! But that's OK - I'm slowly working on breaking him of that habit.
I have been so lucky to find someone to share my dream holiday with, and he has been so supportive in making it come true. I am so looking forward to sharing this experience, and the rest of my life, with my Scotty!
